Masonic home paid $6.9 million to settle sexual abuse lawsuit
Love said the Masonic Home’s inability to protect his client is surprising since, in 1998, it settled a lawsuit filed by 18 plaintiffs that alleged abuse by house parents and neglect by home officials. The institution paid out at least $6.9 million. Changes in personnel and policy were also supposed to result from the settlement, Love said.
