FPI - PIRATES ARE CURRENTLY HIJACKING CARGO SHIPS CARRYING TANKS AND WEAPONS. WHY AREN’T THESE CARGO SHIPS EQUIPPED WITH SONIC WEAPONS? I SMELL A CONSPIRACY AND UNTRUTHS BEING TOLD.

Passengers travelling on luxury cruise liners usually expect to be looked after by their ship’s crew.

Yet pirates who tried to hijack a liner off the coast of Somalia met something a little more sophisticated than a warning shot across the bow.

The crew of the Seabourn Spirit quickly changed course and headed out into open water to evade the attackers in small boats who had raked the vessel with rockets and automatic weapons fire.

They also deployed a military-grade sonic weapon.

The long range acoustic device, or LRAD, is a high-tech loudhailer capable of causing permanent damage to hearing from a distance of more than 300 metres (984ft).

A senior RAF pilot told The Sun: “The Russians made us look helpless. The Blackjack could have got even closer. It was a disaster — it basically gave the Russians the green light to fly wherever they want.”

Ministry of Defence officials confirmed the incident, but said the RAF had a “multilayered” approach to detecting and deterring enemy jets.

A spokesman said in a statement: “We are satisfied we have the flexibility to launch as many aircraft as the situation requires.”

“The Russian vessels will participate in joint exercises with Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force and practice coordinated maneuvering and communications,” Dygalo said.

The Admiral Panteleyev is an Udaloy-class destroyer that serves as an anti-submarine warfare platform fitted with a variety of ASW weapons and limited surface-to-air defense capabilities.

The unofficial visit of the Russian ships to Japan will last until October 3, the spokesman said.
