Disarming citizens undermines safety
Alexander Hamilton wrote the right of self-defense is paramount to positive forms of government and an essential check against infringements of our rights. James Madison also noted the American militia, “… forms a barrier against the enterprise of ambition, more insurmountable than any which a simple government of any form can admit of.”
In total agreement with all the founding fathers, George Mason said, “I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials.”
Today, U.S. Code Title 10, Subtitle A, Part I, Chapter 13, 311 defines the vast majority of the population as ‘disorganized militia.’
